Fergus

Fergus is another 2-year-old Westie (prime age for adolescent behavior) and was surrendered to us because of some behavior issues. His foster home has found that he can be aggressive with anything he finds fearful. Things like vacuums, the leaf blower, the garden hose and even the TV remote seem to be triggers. He is settling into his foster home and getting along with his two foster brothers. He’s a sweet loving boy who loves attention and his foster home is working with our behaviorist on resolving his issues.

Ollie

Ollie is 2 years old and was surrendered because he wasn’t getting along with children who weren’t respecting his boundaries, and he became snappy. He has settled into his foster home and got along well with the other two dogs in his foster home. He has blossomed into a very happy secure two-year-old. He loves barking at squirrels outdoors. He has a couple of favorite toys, especially his large lambie. Ollie has been adopted.

Ziggy

Ziggy is a sweet, smart, active 11-month-old male Westie. He came to rescue from a loving family who had a busy schedule with active children and didn’t have the time to devote to an active puppy. Though Ziggy was not neutered, he accepted his Cairn foster sister as the pack leader. Ziggy soon learned Doggie Manners 101, like sitting politely before eating his meal and sitting quietly at the door before going outside. And Ziggy LOVED the fenced in yard in his foster home because he could play ball – his favorite game ever! While in foster care, it became apparent that Ziggy needed to be an “only child (dog)”. He’s been adopted by a family with a fenced in yard, where he will be happy with one dog.

Kiltie

Kiltie came to rescue after his owners had passed away and the family who took him in realized a 9-year-old Westie wasn’t a great match for a family with very young children. He was never aggressive to the children, but he was grumpy, and they were concerned he might be. Kiltie has had allergies but doesn’t seem to be bothered by them anymore. Kiltie got along with his foster brother just fine, is loveable and likes to cuddle on your lap. Being raised by elderly humans, Kiltie got what he wanted by barking non-stop, which his foster home worked on while he was in care. Kiltie found a forever home that would give him lots of attention and continue to work on his barking and has been adopted.

COCO

Coco came to Westie Rescue after his elderly owners were no longer able to care for him. He’s a terrier mix and a little guy at 10lbs and is 7 years old. Coco was an only dog whose humans doted on him. He loves going anywhere with you. He is not much of a barker but will let you know if someone is outside. He is shy and needed to build confidence. He has started to play with toys as he becomes more comfortable in his foster home. He loves going for walks with his foster mom and foster brother. Coco has a clean bill of health from the vet and did very well at the groomers. Coco has been adopted.

Snowflake

Is a 9-year-old female Wheaten Scottie, who was surrendered to a shelter after her human mom died. Westie Rescue picked her up from the shelter and brought her into care. She loves going for walks and is getting along with her foster brother. When she had her dental, she had 8 teeth removed. 7 of which were severely abscessed. Once everything healed, Snowflake felt so much better. Snowflake has been adopted and now lives the good life in a rural area where she has lots of wildlife, including deer, to keep in line.
